Hi all,
I was wondering if you could share some of your limb independence/coordination exercises, or link me to a discussion on it in the forums (I searched but can't find anything good). I've been drumming for about 13 years now, and I've decided that I need to start practicing again. I've been on the same plateau for the past few years and haven't improved at all. My hand skills are decent, so I think the next step for me to improve on dramatically is limb independence, so that I can come up with more complex beats. Or do you guys think I should keep doing rudiments along with all this?...ugh i don't know..I just am sick of not improving...Thanks!

Gary Chester's "The New Breed." It will teach you functional interdependence in no time.

It's WELL worth your $10 to go out and buy the 4-Way Coordination book...it's probably my favorite book right now.

I agree it's stick control for drumset. New Breed is excellent but there isn't liner stuff. In 4-Way Coordination you start with a very simple liner coordination and gradually build it up to 4 way coordination. Tony Williams used that book a lot ;)

BTW. At the end he say that there will be also second book. Was it ever published?
