The guy I work for has been trying to get my Taylor CE 114. I paid about 1200 for the guitar and 200 for the case eight years ago. We've worked out all kinds of trades but I really have not been able to part with the guitar. the thing is the Taylor is a nice guitar that will not loose its value.

He wants to trade me a new (floor model, I've actually played it several times) Sonor 2007 10" 12" 16" tom snare and 22" bass drum with full hardware (bass pedal, HH stand two cymbal stands, tom mount) and used Zildjian 14" HH's, and a used Sabian HHX 20" stage ride.

He also has a Mapex M Birch about six months old that he has gigged twice and has some nice hardware, but he would be less inclined to part with this one.

I need a second kit for auditioning and to play with my band so I am kind of in a bind. Do you think the Sonor is worth the trade since it is a factory kit and will not hold its value? Would I be better off with the M Birch, which I actually really like?

Keep the Taylor.

That is all.

Agreed!!

Taylor guitars are worth far more than the 2007 series drums. My best friend has one and it is his "go to" guitar. It sounds beautiful !

I triple the vote. Both those drum sets are just the flavor of the month kits? If he was trading you a round badge Gretsch kit, a beautiful 60's Luddy or Rogers, then I'd deal. Look on eBay if you need a second kit.

Thanks, guys. I am in a bit of a bind because I am broke. Holidays and all. (My student loan) I even let a nice 16" Ludwig got for 275, that was the drum I was telling you I wanted to find, Harry. I've seen it for for close to 500.

The min would be an S Class Pro set from Sonor. E-bay price would be the same as your Taylor. At least you would start out even.
