I have been delighted with the responsiveness of my new Gibraltar lever action hi hat (9607DL-LD). It's the best hi hat I've ever used. I just added a pair of 14" UFIP Exstatic hats and they are working beautifully.

I also bought a K-Custom 17" hybrid crash and it sounds really good in the mix of the band.

Now I'll have to save up for the DW 9002 double pedal... And yes, I guess it is an obsession.

Forgot to describe the kit:

Yamaha Maple Custom, Black Maple finish: 8",10",12",14",16" and 22"x16. Yamaha flying dragon double pedal.
At the moment I'm mainly using an Ahead 14" x 6" brass snare with the 6.5" Maple Custom for quieter gigs.
14" UFIP Exstatic hats
UFIP class series splashes 8" & 12"
Sabian AAX 10" splash
Crashes: 17" K Custom Hybrid 17", 16" K Custom Dark, 18" Sabian HHX Studio & 18" Sabian Paragon
22" Dream Bliss ride.
20" HHX China.
16" A Zildjian China Boy Low stacked on a cracked A Zildijan 10" splash. (which nicely cuts the ring of the China.)
A 12" cymbal from a children's classroom percussion kit.

LP and Meinl bells and blocks. An amazingly comfortable Gibraltar 9608 oversized seat. (I'm an older and need whatever comfort I can get!)

Looks great. How do you like those UFIP hats? Those are a new series, aren't they?

These are a new line by UFIP and I'm very happy with them, although they've only done 3 gigs so far and I'm still getting used to them. I wanted a very smooth sizzle from the semi closed hats for swing stuff and they sound great for that. The tick on closed hats is nice too.

I've added a 1min fragment of a song from Sunday's gig that gives an idea of the sound. (Drums not processed, just recorded on a Zoom H2 about 20 feet in front of the band. )
