Hey everybody. i haven't really been on here in a while.

Well, it seems like my buddies are thinking about getting me either a darbuka or bongos for Christmas. I already have a djembe.

Of the two, which do you think i'd get more fun/use out of.

I mostly enjoy playing indie rock and acoustic stuff, but it is not uncommon for me to play everything from hard rock to jazz from time to time.

Thanks a lot guys. You're what makes this forum great.

A darbuka (also called a dumbek) is more versatile than bongos but requires more technique to play. Darbukas are Middle Eastern drums and there are some fun rhythms you can play on them - beladi, karshlama, chiftitelli for starters.

I'd go with Darabukka too.
