I've been playing for about 6 years but i'm new to the blast beats. When i do them they're too quiet and i hear too much rim. I dont wanna have to buy a new mic for my snare, so any suggestions on cleaning it up?

If you're hearing the rim, you're timing the hit wrong. Slow way, way down, until the motion is ingrained. The stick needs to hit the head at the same time as the rim, you'll get a rimshot sound, no click.
I don't use my wrist, I swing from the elbow, and control the angle of the stick and the release/upstroke with the fingers.

For the gravity blast you want to make sure the stick is parallel with the angle of your snare drum so you dont get this click noise. However i still find it hard to get any real volume from this technique, especially when you have the bass drum going, as it just drowns it out. Have you tried blasting using gladstone technique perhaps? You get more volume and more control

Honestly, I do not play the blast beats with rimshots... and I think neither Sandoval or Roddy do. I get enough power and clarity by using kind of a 2-stroke Moeller technique, but I keep the volume the same both for the first and the second hit, and than just putting them all together. Basically, my wrist does one complete motion (down-up) while I've played 2 stokes. Of course, I agree blast beats should be started slowly and only after your motion is clean and relaxed and precise, to start increasing the tempo up to your desired speed.
Hope this helps!

Oh, you mean gravity blasts:))
For those, you'll just have to practice until the clicking disappears...there's no quick fix to it, as far as I know... Mine sound pretty well, I think ,but that's after quite a while of practicing them:D
