This is what I'm talking about! The guys played with great success in England.
Here is the article

Led Zeppelin is such a great band. The best part is I do not have to say was...a great band. I mean these days when we go see bands play, they play the songs exactly like on the album. Yeah, you know what bands I'm talking about. But back in the day Led Zeppelin did 23 minute versions of songs; Talk about getting your money worth. Van Halen kind of reunited, The Police reunited, and well Keith Moon was replaced many times by that popular band, but Zeppelin kept it real. Well drummers merry christmas and here is to the 40th anniversary Led Zeppelin 2008 Summer Tour that I hope happens. And Jason Bonham, thank you for your awesome professionalism!

Man, I'm so happy for Zeppelin, especially Jason - he's done his father so proud. Kinda makes you realise how shocking and heartbreaking the loss of John was. Well done Zep!

Thought everyone here would like to see this - Jason is getting a lot of respect for his playing ability, apparently even the band were pleasantly surprised:
-----------
And it was the newest member of the band that was given the honor of kicking off the sold-out benefit show, pounding out the beat before the others joined in on a near-perfect “Good Times Bad Times.”
After the lights went down at the O2 Arena, newsreel footage of the band arriving in Tampa, Fla., for a 1973 performance was projected onstage. Then Bonham jumped in, soon to be joined by the rest.
Still, it was Bonham who may have been the star of the show. At 41, he is older than his father was — 32 — when he choked to death on his own vomit in 1980.
Bonham’s flawless performance and driving beat even made the other members of the band watch in awe at the end of “Black Dog.”
After “The Song Remains the Same,” Plant screamed: “Jason Bonham, drums! Come on!”

I heard about Jason on the radio this morning.
It will be absolutely brilliant if they tour in the US... just for one stretch..... the money they would make would be too hard to pass up!
any word if a DVD or CD set will be available from that concert?

Be funny for all those who parted considerable amounts to see the 'one-off' gig then...
Especially that scottish chap who parted with £83,000 for a pair. That's right. Eighty three thousand pounds.

*When* they announce a world tour, the tickets are going to go as fast as a vestal virgin being chased by a barbarian horde. I spent 2 hours trying to get onto the registration site for this gig. And that was sitting there refreshing the page every 10 seconds!!!

Holy cow. Announcing a tour after that kind of money...you might as well crap on his carpet.

OMG , seeing those liveclips is totally surrealistic. Led Zeppelin live 2007 and sounding so fresh and vital.
Btw it looks like Jason plays the exact sizes john did.

Say it all!
Wish I could have been there. Jason seems pretty good. Although, no one can quite exude "cool" like his dad could. Do you guys think they're gonna record any new material? I know Plant said they might.

For anyone interested, there is a great article regarding that show, and they are on the cover... Of this months Rolling Stone mag. They really speak highly of Jason, they talk how he is the right choice for this. You should read the article, it really gives an indepth look at how they got together to rehearse for this gig.

A while back I read somewhere that Ian Ashbury told the audience at a Cult gig that Zep was gonna tour and that The Cult were to be the opening band but,... who knows?
Also a friend of mine told me that the heard they were thinking of do a string of gigs at Madison Square Garden using the same set list from Song Remains the Same, but I don't know where he heard that from so I don't know how true it is. I DID see an interview with Page prior to the O2 gig that they were being courted to play Glastonbury. If that's true then dag-nabbit, they better do a couple gigs here in the States or I'm declaring war on Britain! No fair they get a live Zep show and we don't! After all we're the ones that got them famous (Of course, I'm just jealous, so don't take this rant seriously).
The first clip I saw was Kashmir and I thought, "Hmm, pretty good but when's Jason gonna let some fills fly", then about 7 minutes in my jaw hit the floor. There was a moment in one of the clips where Plant turns to face Jason while he's playing and you can tell he was in awe of him. Way to Jason Bonham!

OH MAN I am getting giddy... I pray they do something to try and ensure the real fans have a shot at getting some tickets and not all the friggin scalpers who will rape us.

Being the son of a great drummer, I wonder if Jason was receiving "channels of energy and inspiration" from his father while he was playing the concert. Or maybe at least, John watching down on his son.
I bet that would have been a SURREAL feeling if I were Jason.
Imagine that? :)

That brought back a lot of teenage memories. As swiNg said, seeing videos of them again in concert was surrealistic. Although Plant has lost some of his vocal abilities, if I closed my eyes and listened is was like being back in the 70's.

I read a piece that said Jason Bonham was so nervous before going on that they almost had to cancel. Probably an exaggeration, but who could blame him for being nervous. Those are pretty big goddamned shoes to fill, no? I must say, from what I've seen so far, he did his Dad proud. Spectacular job. Imagine the pressure he was under: First Zeppelin reunion in decades, and he's filling in for arguably the best rock drummer in history. John Bonham may not have been there that night, but his DNA sure was. He would have been proud, I'm sure.
OK, everyone, let's all get down on our hands and knees right now and pray for a North American tour. Ready, set, on yer knees...!

I'm on the floor with ya, like Kissinger praying with Nixon in the Oval Office. What I can't wait for are the interviews with Jason about what was going through his mind while he was up there.
