You guys sure keep me busy on my days off... lol I'll have the edges done on this one tomorrow and the top coats should be done on the Myrtle and Maple by then as well. Who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to work on my own then! haha

Thought you'd like that...

fourstrings: i THINK i built up the clear enough today to start sanding it smooth and buffing it... waiting for it to cure and I'll know for sure. I put the final coat on Gruntersdads today for sure so I'll be sanding that shortly as well. Guess I better get some hardware here to get these put together.

Too bad that's not the shell he's using any more. The original shell in the picture cracked, Tim had to order another.

Yea.. new one is on the way... figuring will be pretty much the same if not better. It's that amber dye that really sets off the wood. Works great on Cherry as well.

Good stuff, and I would bet that it sounds as good as it looks. When are you going to receive it? With all that new gear on the way you aren't going to leave your set for a week!

Because to save money he's putting his own heads on there so I was too lazy to put the other one on to take the photo ;) I had a chest to refinish... and this rosewood drum to do:

plus some other stuff to get done today lol

Bitchin' birch shell. Crazyhorse, how do you make these? Don't you have to boil the wood to make it soft and put it in a mold? Fascinating.

I know you'd probably rather now show it, but I would like to see the seam where the ends join.

I don't do the steambending... not yet anyways. These are shells from Vaughncraft. No point reinventing the wheel when they're the best out there right now.
