Updated PDP Setup

Howdy,

I first posted pics of my kit here:

I've updated my setup with a bunch of new Zildjians:

20" K Ride
15" K Custom Dark Crash
17" K Medium Thin Crash
14" Oriental China

Also got a DW 5000 single pedal and two-legged hi-hat stand. I've finally got my dream setup. Here are the pics:

Yep. That was the natural way for me to play from the first time I ever sat down at a drumset.

It's funny, now that you say that, the first time I ever sat down at a drumset I wanted to play open handed. I was told "No, you're doing it wrong". *lol*

Good thing we all know better these days. I recently heard Dave Weckl say something like, "There's no right and wrong - only better and worse." For me, it's better to play open-handed. I'd be a lot worse if I tried playing the "normal" way. :)

Well I wish that I had learned open because there are times when I'll setup left handed, but I'll play open handed righty because I'm lousy at left handed with my hands :)

Love your set. I have the same one!!! Unfortunately i have terrible cymbals.

What head are you using on the bass drum? I'm using an ambassador. Great attack but its not full enough. The only muting I have is the pillow they give you.

I'm currently using the stock DW head and a small blanket inside. I'm pretty satisfied with the sound for now.

I really like the finish and the nice clean setup...Looks like you got a winner!! I wish I could play open handed!!

Lovely setup, how's the K ride, I like the layout of yours drums, I most likely couldn't play it well but I can appreciate it all the same.

It does! I wanted a fairly small china with a very rapid decay. And, as a Zildjian man, it had to be a Zildjian, of course. To my ear, the 14" Oriental met my qualifications the best, and now that I've got it, I'm very pleased with it.
