Well ok.. only 4 of them are for me.. 2 are going to a friend in the Netherlands. I'm stuck figuring out which one I want to keep for myself and then I'll finish the other 3 and sell'em. I'm leaning towards the purple heart...

Nice. The purpleheart was what I first said to myself too.

Can you tell me which ones are not taken as of yet. I'm looking for 7 or 8 inch depth.

That 14 x 7 maple isn't spoken for.... it's the only "deep" shell I got.

Good question... I don't know. Thus why I want to try it out. Same with the myrtlewood... =)

Just found this from a website selling a GSM solid purpleheart snare

'The Purpleheart has a full dynamic range, but Maple has a little more "crack". Purpleheart has an emphasis on mid and low frequencies. Purpleheart has a shorter principal note, is more resonant, and has fewer overtones than Maple.'

I bet something like a purpleheart and birch stave would be perfect!

Are there any other shells unspoken for?

I'm on the lookout for a super long-term snare drum investment. Money isn't really hold up.

Let me know.
