If I remember correctly the sound girl used a sm 57 for the snare and a 58 for the toms. I'm not sure about the bass drum. I'll go look when I'm there this friday.
The drums are the Studio Master series from Tamburo, an Italian brand.
Bass drum: 22x16
Floor tom: 16x16
Tom: 13x12
Pork Pie Cherry Vertical Satin Snare: 14x6
I add an 18" floor tom I took from my Yamaha Stage Custom set and a Pearl maple piccolo.
The owner of a local club, "The Poplar Lounge," bought the Studio Masters for me because we play at his place a lot and he wants to make sure we sound good. 8D!!
I really enjoy messing up live because everyone in the band gets a laugh out of it and the audience thinks I'm either showing off or improvising haha.
Thanks drum.lad!

recently, every video you posted was just great, so i've not much to tell here except that i totally envy you the opportunity to play such great music, with great musicians. and if it comes to you... you groove man! and that's what counts really. it's cool to see that having the abilities to probably play faster, and more "densely", you play just enough to make the tune sound fine.
great job man!
P.S. oh, and is this your kiddo on one of these vids? dude's got an attitude! ;)

Thanks for the nice comments man. Is there anything you would critique though? I'm always looking for constructive criticism to better myself.
the little kid would be Owen, my guitarists little 1 year old. I'm starting him out REALLY early. Some day he's going to be grooving like nobody's business! He comes to a lot of the shows and sleeps lol. he likes to talk to my drums while he plays them. he's a hoot!

I miss Beale Street. I used to live in Memphis for a short time. Is Silky's still there? Oh, I liked the vids too :-)

Silky's is still there. The only clubs on beale I play are the tap room, the kings palace, rum boogies, and wet willies though. I love beale so much. getting paid to eat gumbo and play music is the coolest job evar!

You guys sound great. I really liked Cold Shot, your singer sounded really good on that. It's tough to crit your playing with the sound quality though - it would be easier to give some comments on a studio recording where we can hear whats going on with your playing and how tight the band is. From what I heard in the videos, I say you guys are really good!

I have a myspace music site: http://www.myspace.com/andrewelledge
and more on the mercury blvd page: http://www.myspace.com/mercuryboulevard
I'm ashamed to say this but I used to drink and was drinking when we recorded the mercury blvd tracks tracks. the first two on my page were recorded a few years ago with my dad and some crazy ukranian musicians just for fun.
