Thanks-again, Bernhard,

just finished watching Cindy Blackman 1... what an awesome player! ...interesting that her traditional grip, which is so well excecuted during her jazz playing ( great camera angle too see that ), she then changes to matched for the rock groove she played.

great right foot too!

going back to see the other vids,,,

I'm feeling the envy and lealousy surge through my body right now. Damn you Bern and Jason! If I could only be so blessed to have an opportunity to go to a show like that. Thanks for the reviews, pics and vids guys, you help to keep all of us inspired.

You know what.... you just gave me an idea for a wonderful anniversary present for my wife. A trip to London and tickets to Drummer Live! She would probably love going to London, but could care less about the drumming festival. I myself have already been to London, so I could care less about the sightseeing. Looks like a nice little 50/50 sacrafice could be made here. Hmmmm, I could kill 2 birds with one stone.

I wonder how much financial damage it would take to make this happen. When you buy tickets to these festivals do you get complete access.. or are you kinda herded around like sheep and kept at bay? I would really like to check one of these shows out. Is it always in London? Hey Nutha... do you have a guest bedroom? Are you cheaper than hotels?

Thanks for the idea Titan!

Yea!

Thanks Bernhard...AGAIN! For posting some great videos!

I love Cindy Blackmans' playing. She has "fun", and that's the key. She's an inspiration to all of the female drummers out there.

Cudos to her...

Play On! ;-)

No problem!

Its probably the perfect time to do it as it will be over 4 days instead of 2 next year. There are other shows in Europe but I think this event is best all round. Yep, its only held in London.

Its a great affair, you can come and go as you please from the live halls, walk around the stands at your own will and every 45 minutes they have a "noisy 15 minutes" where everybody goes crazy and try things out. Great atmosphere to be in!!

And if you were making the journey then it would only be proper to organize a DW meet up with all members who can attend :)

Amazing!!!
I`ve never knew Cindy Blackman as a passionated and great Jazz drummer. Her playing was sweet...but raw and very intense! She has a great independence and sound. On some spots I thought I could hear some Tony Williams...the same I thought of her tom sound.
Very classy playing...what a sound!

Gerald Heyward...what a groove! =)
Just excellent, really like the tight sound...but musical. Havn`t listened to him much till now but this makes me wanna check out more!

And yeeeah, Steve White...I already said it, so relaxed and in the pocket. Did he play with a play-along?

Very good report of Nutha, well written! Hope I can get the opportunity to get to the Frankfurt music fair next year...I guess Bernhard will be there again, right?

Thanks,

Karl

she said that here greatest influence was tony... just look at her tom set up and you see tony's angles there. she also loved bonham's drumming... best of both worlds IMO.

Thanks,

Steve White played with a live band - organ (Hammond) and bass. So great trio. Bad angle for me, so could take only the drums.

Yes Frankfurt, of course...

Hahahaha totally, dude! Spot on. No offense to Steve but the organ takes the cake. Brings to mind beloved Nintendo characters flying cartoon airplanes.

Like the Cindy video. Some nice chops.
