What is the difference between in sound between a 10mm and a 14mm birch shells?

And your going to get a bit more projection at the cost of a little less body on the thicker one. I asume this is for a snare?....

In general a thicker shell will give you a boost in volume and cut, and a thin shell will have more resonance but less volume. A thinner shell also presents more characteristics of the construction wood - in this case birch - which has lots of high-end to it.
