ringing snare

i've got a 5.5x14 maple Black Panther and have tuned it every which way and finally had a drum tech tune it. it still rings!

i've got a Hazy 200 snare side and Controlled Sound w/ black dot batter, one moongel. with the moongel it's ok, but without, it sounds awful.

what can i do? use a head that is drier (i don't want to kill 100% ring, but it's awful as it is).

maybe try a 300 weight on the reso side.

Other than that, you might want to try an evans dry.
