I am looking to buy some Puresound snare wires and don't know which ones to purchase. I have a 5 and 1/4 by 14 inch Maple snare drum by Pacific. I play styles like rock, pop, soul, and Gospel. I don't play jazz and I'm not a heavy hitter. I prefer a snare sound which is crisp, articulate, with a lot of response. Also, I like a high pitched "crack" sound to it. I don't know whether to buy the Blasters or the Custom Series Puresound snares. Thanks for any advice.

I am looking to purchase a set of Puresound snare wires, but don't know which ones would be best suited to my particular drum and playing styles. I have a 5 and 1/4 by 14 inch Pacific Maple snare drum. I play styles like Gospel, rock, pop, and soul. I don't play jazz, and I'm not a heavy hitter. I prefer a snare sound with a high pitched "crack." I also like a snare which is very responsive, articulate, with a crisp sound. I also don't know if I should go with 16, 20, or 24 strand snare wires to get the type of sound that I am looking for. Thanks.

This will help.

Blasters seem to be the widest used.

If you're looking for a good all-around snare wire by puresound, i would reccomend puresound blasters...they sound really nice on my 4"x14" DW maple snare. quick response...and have a warmer tone than the original wires.
