first kit??

hey guys,
I know you get a lot of these threads asking you to recommend a good kit but i have no idea.

I am looking for a high quality entry level electronic kit, i was going to go acoustic but noise in my place is an issue.
my price range is from $1500-$2500

if any of you guys (or girls) can help me that would be awsome.

Roland and Yamaha make good eletric drums, but if you are looking for true, unbeatable sound, get an acoustic. Eletric drums are nice, but, once you get an acoustic...You'll feel a diferance. Acoustics can be tuned down by buying pads, they're cheap and effective.

If you are going with E Drums you want to try to go with mesh heads, the rubber pads are hard on your wrists after a while if you play with any aggressiveness. My suggestion is to play the various sets and see what you like. I currently own a TD 20 kit, I have also owned a TD kit and a Hart dynamics kit with a TD 8 brain. The harts were nice but I just never got them to trigger as I wanted them to. With the Roland's I turn them on and play and they work, no tweaking needed unless I want to.
I also found getting help a little bit of a hassle, if it was a configuration problem I would call Hart if it was a question on the brain I would have to call Roland. I prefer having one call for the entire kit.

Oh and I love my Roland kit.

I love my Hart and haven't had isssues with it triggering with my Roland TD-12 module.
You could get a Hart MegaPro with a TD-6V module for under $2500 with free shipping.

I ordered mine mid Dec. last year and had to wait until late Jan. to get it as Harts were backordered and almost every place had modules back ordered.
