Hi

It occurred to me recently that it must be possible to save the settings on my TD12 module. I am trying to figure out how to do this from a security standpoint - I mean I would hate to sit down one day and find that it had gone back to factory settings for example. Does anyone have any experience on this?

On the same note, does anyone know if it is possible to import kit setups? What I mean is say for example I had made a kit and someone else heard it and wanted to do the same on his/her TD12, instead of copying the settings for each shell manually, is it possible to somehow copy this - maybe over MIDI?

cheers

Rich

I believe the Roland brain has a a MIDI dump utility with which you can transfer the settings via MIDI to another device. I haven't used it myself, but it should be possible.

Yes, on the Roland module get to the MIDI Bulk Dump menu and do a dump to your PC.. I have a TD-8, so my dumps are saved as .SYX file extensions.. I think the TD-12 is the same format.

In order to transfer and save from module to PC, you will need MIDI In/Out cables and software.. I use VdrumLib.. it's free for 10 days or $20 for life. a VERY useful software tool! All the Roland users and programmers swear by it.
