Went to see Ray Luzier tonight at the local shop. The event was sponsored by Sabian, and this 18 inch HHX Evolution was screaming at me, so I took it home. The shop was having special deals on Sabian so the cash was right. And it plays nicely with my Masterwork Cymbals, so I think I will keep it.

The Evolution crashes are great! I ended up getting the 17" and 18". Have fun!

Sweet! The various HHX series are my favorite Sabians.

Sweet! The various HHX series are my favorite Sabians.

They're my favorite series from the big 3 (well now big 4) next to the Meinl Byzance.

Good score!

Love that Bronze man! I have the 16 and 17". KILLER!

I'm also a firm believer that the HHX line is the best line in cymbals...

Got home too late last night to do anything but set it up but tonight it will get a little road test for sure. They gave me a bottle of Sabian polish to keep it shiny also. I think it had most of my counties drummers finger prints on it so the FBI may be interested.

I'm just going to pretend you didn't say the words "cymbal" and "polish" in the same sentence...

Hey, its new and has a brilliant finish, like me, so until it gets some dust on it I took off the CSI fingerprint samples.

Bah... cymbals don't get polished!! I'll post pictures of a few new aquisitions here shortly and show ya what a real cymbal should look like. ( 1920's K's )

1920's? They couldn't even spell Brilliant back then. It was just bronze left over from making belt buckles. My Masterworks don't get polished, but they are a different finish.

Don't worry... after a few years of not polishing it'll fix that finish right up for ya =) But yea I stumbled across an 8" and 12" Zildjian and CIE K. Constantinoples.. back before it was K. Istanbul. Going to keep the 8" as a splash and make a set of hats with the 12 as the bottom.

The fine lathing and brilliant finish really show all the marks on these cymbals, more than my AA and AAX brilliants. So yeah, I gotta polish them from time to time. Don't kill me plz....

Just so you know, I only went to band camp one summer. Actually it was Music Summer School. One hour of lessons, then one hour of band rehersals.
