Anyone know what the proper name is or have a link for the stand you can mount your floor tom in to use it as a bass? I know I've seen them and having a hard time finding anything on them. My buddy was doing a small gig last night and used his floor tom but just laid it on the ground and semi-attached the pedal to the rim. (thankfully it wasn't his yamaha floor it was an export) I mentioned this idea to him and he sounded interested. Any ideas?
THanks,
Brian

They call them cradles or floor tom (bass drum) risers. Here's a couple pics of my DW riser. It's heavy duty with tons of adjustments to get it just right. Danmar makes a pretty nice one also.

Cool, the DW one is the one I found on line after about 45 minutes of searching. Looks like a very sturdy setup the way it's built.

It really is solid. It took a little while to get it perfect because of all the adjustments, but once I dialed it in it was solid. I played a 4 hour rehearsal and the bass drum or pedal didn't budge an inch. As soon as I get my live mics, this will be a gigworthy set-up for smaller gigs.

That's what my buddy is looking for as well, for playing smaller gigs.

Gibralter and Dunnett are making these kits. I'm not sure when they hit stores though. Basically you take the floor tom and two of the leg mounts get these bass spur/legs and the top gets this rigged up tom mount. There's also a special riser for the pedal as well. Not only does this allow you to make a bass of the floor tom but also mount a tom on it as well. http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/pics/news/GIB_DunnR-Classnn.jpg
