I've noticed that most of the threads on the drummerworld forums are related to drumset or latin percussion, such as congas or bongos and whatnot. I've noticed almost no posts relating to marching percussion, and just about zero in relation to tenors.

So here goes: I'm making history.

I play first tenor on my school's drumline. We're a division 5 open school, and we have three tenors.

I have been using various mallets over the course of three years and I was wondering:

What are your favorite mallets for tenors? Why are they good?

Have you ever heard of Tyler Fry? his line of Ty Fry tenor sticks are really good. You should check that out.

The tenor players on my line also use those. They are pretty good, but could be a little louder in my opinion. Its not really my choice, im a snare player, but i fill in during the pep band songs on the tenors for the harder songs.

I like the Scott Johnson Tenor sticks (Vic Firth). They feel very good and I recommend them.

these.
Great bounce on diddles, haven't broken one yet.

Got the same thing in puffy too. Everybody loves the puffy.
