Hi everyone!
im thinking about getting a Aaron Gillespie truth kit because i've wanted Truth Drums for a long time and this is the perfect opportunity to get them at a cheap price! Heres the details:

Introducing Aaron Gillespie's new Signature series drum set. Aaron picked a custom Pungent Orange Lacquer for the finish. And picked his favorite sizes to offer you with this kit. This is a mid level kit made of birch/poplar shells with chrome hardware, mounted floor tom legs and is a 5 piece kit! We are taking pre-orders on the kit since there is only going to be a LIMITED amount of sets built. Each Kit comes with Aaron's signature Pro Mark 2B Sticks as well. Please check out live pics of Aaron with the kit and hopfully you got to see him use his kit on Underoath's fall headlining tour.

I currently have a Gretsch Catalina Birch. Good change? bad change?
i just want to know your thoughts and maybe some helpful advice!

Thanks!

Im a huge Aaron Gillespie fan (he's one of my biggest inspirations), and I'm thinking about that kit too, but birch/poplar, wont be a huge change from the catalina's. Mind you, it will give you a different sound. I've never heard of birch/poplar :p. I'd say give it a go, if you want :p

most low end kits are made with poplar

its a type of wood.. birch maple or any other wood would sound WAY better than poplar

although you can get really decent sounds out of poplar kits

the poplar birch combo should be muy excelent

Wait, are you saying Truth is now selling mid level kits?

The last time I was at their shop was about a year ago, they were a very small operation. I am happy for them all really cool guys.

poplar is a cheap wood. I'd say if you're going to spend 1200 dollars on a kit, get a mapex maple kit.

I think you'll probably end up with the same thing you have now.
