there's this one, and a 10", and an 8". all come with a boom arm and clamp...price is no problem, there's only like $15 inbetween. just wondering what would sound the best for a funk type setting? im sort of looking for the brightest out of the 3 sizes, if sizes makes a difference. would any of them fit into funky stuff? does trashy go well in funk?

trashy will work in funk, I play a lot of funk and use both bright and dark cymbals. I had an 8" and loved it till it got stolen, and a 10'' that was cracked when i got it. I got the two in a set and didn't want to return the 8'' so I just kept the 10''. They are really great cymbals. My 8'' sounded kind of like a phisss and glass breaking. That may not make and since but I really liked mine.

Well I guess I'll save up for one then. I don't know too much about spashes, but i think i might go for the 10. Or would you recommend the 8"?

I really liked my 8'' I don't know much about normal prices over there. I got a 8 and 10 for i think $40. So I would check it out to make sure you are not over paying. I got a bad 10'' but I think if you decide to go with the wuhan the 10 will fit better. It will not be as bright but i will be louder. I felt that my 8'' wasn't loud enough sometimes.

do wuhan make other splashes which are not in the 's' line? the auction doesnt actually say that its an 's' splash and it doesnt have an s on the cymbal. but i found a 10" Meinl Byzance splash on ebay for $126 w/ free postage. it doesnt come with a stand or clamp but atleast i'd be getting a pro cymbal. i went to the meinl site and listen to the sound clips. pretty much exactly what im looking for. thanks for the info.

Hey dood, if you're not married to WUHAN splashes... check out a 8" or 10" GenX filter china..That would be a smokin' sound for funk! I've got a 10" F.C that is AWESOME.
Check 'em out on their website MEINLcymbals.com. They have sound bites there that are pretty true to the real thing!

i checked out the site, and the genX filter china is good but not exactly what im looking for.

You may want to check out Meinl's Classics 10" splash. cast alloy, great cut and loud but not obnoxious. + 2yr. waranty! I've played Zildjian and Sabian all my drumming life.
Now...MEINLS great cymbals! IMO.
