Did any of you guys catch "Next Great American Band" on FOX Friday night? There was a great band called Big Toe. They have a bass player and vocalist who was born without arms. He plays bass with his feet! I've seen Tony Melendez (do a web search) who is an amazing acoustic guitarist who was born without arms, but this was the first bass player I've seen.

They didn't make it through, but I wanted to show you guys the MySpace page. They really were good, but it just didn't work out that way for them. Hopefully they keep on trying no matter what. If I hadn't told you guys he had no arms you would not think there was anything different about this man...truly amazing.

Listening to the songs, I could'nt believe it.I thought it would be the kind of music where you need to only hold a few notes here and there.

Guess I was wrong.

Reminds me of the old addage, If you can think it, you can do it!

Go, Big Toe! : )

I caught the show last night. I couldn't believe a couple of the bands they let through.

I remember Big Toe. I was definitely impressed with how he played. I closed my eyes and listened to just the music, and forgot about the fact that he has no arms. He was a decent bass player. I don't think he's such a great vocalist though. The songs on their MySpace page sound much better than the performance on the show (maybe just a bad day?). Compared to some of the other bands, I think they should have made it through.

There should be a thread for the duration of the show to talk about all the bands- your favorites, etc.

Yep, That bass player was pretty amazing. A shinning example of beating the odds and following you heart.

I liked the country pop band Six Wire alot and those black dudes were smokin. The big band was kinda cool also.

I enjoyed the show.
