Here is the decision I am making, I have two cymbals, one is a Zildjian 16" A Custom Fast Crash and the second is a Istanbul Mehmet 22" Nostalgia Crash-Ride. I want to purchase a new ride cymbal, the Zildjian 20" K Custom Dry Light Ride. Is it a good idea to trade in my two cymbals and get whatever cash/credit I can for them for the 20" Dry Light Ride? Or are there better options? I don't use crashes too often anymore, so I am not sad to get rid of the crash. Thanks in advance for your guys' advice!

Sell it, don't trade it. You will get much more by selling it than trading. The reason is because if you sell it to say a music store, they are going to want to make a decent profit. Most of the time you will only get half of what THEY could sell it for. So if they could sell the crash for $150, you'd only get $75. Not worth it.

Your best bet is to either post it here, CraigsList.com or Ebay.

Well, I just posted a listing in Craigslist a few minutes ago, and I was asking for $100. That's without shipping costs because it's local, and I could probably have someone pick it up from my place. Hope that helps!
