There is a large screw on the bottom of the cymbal spring. You need a flat head screw driver. Get one and loosen it, slide it over the top of your cymbal post (remove the wing nut, felts, plastic sleeve etc..) and then tighten the screw.
Unless of course you've done this and your cymbal post is just too large for the spring to fit, in which case you're out of luck unless you drill it to enlarge the hole.

Are you shure they are the same size? The spring might be for a 6mm top, while you have a 8mm top?

The spring is one size, meant to fit over any cymbal post. That's where there is a screw on the side that you have to tighten.

well, ya i have tried that... but the thing is that it looks like to me that the stand is to small for the hole in the bottom of the spring..cause there is only a lil hole in the spring...a wide one, but only like a couple cm's deep.

From my recollection, it isn't very deep and it doesn't fit as far as you think it would. But just slide it over the stand and tighten that screw until it's tight. It may be a little lopsided or what not, but as long as it doesn't move it doesn't matter.

What do the springs do? I've never seen one.

well, i have tried that..lol. see where i am is that if i were to hit it, it would more than likely be thrown off the stand.
