I just found out that my cousin Jeff Ciampa (who is also an amazing bassist) was the assistant sound engineer and mixed the Wayne Shorter CD, Footprints Live as well as the other live Wayne Shorter recording Beyond the Sound Barrier. Both featured Wayne, Danilo Perez, John Patittucci, and the incredible and inimitable Brian Blade! Pretty wild stuff. I think Im gonna go out to his home studio in Ohio to record my auditions for CalArts, the New School, William Paterson, and NYU. Just had to tell somebody.
