hello

there's a good deal for those cymbals. i'm afraid i don't have money for both, so what do you think - which one should i choose? i love dark and thin cymbals. the cymbal will be used in jazz, fusion and some rock.

i will be glad for any input

cheers

You really can't go wrong with either. HHX is my favorite line of cymbals. I can personally vouch for the Evolutions as I have 16 and 17" Evolution crashes.

But realize, that there is a big difference between a 16" and an 18" crash. So I would say forget the deal, and get the size that you want...

can you, please, explain the difference?

go to the stroe & play them. pick the cymbal that fits your music the most. not what everyone else thinks.

I highly recommend the Studio over the Evolution. It's very dark, warm, and all-around a good cymbal!

I love my 16" Evolution. Decays really quickly - extremely thin and very glassy. Can't go wrong with anything HHX.

Hello. You'll be happy with either of those cymbals. The Studio crash is a little thicker and punchier, and the evolution more glassy, they are both wonderful crashes. I have the 16" studio myself and it's a great all round crash with a nice mix of dark and shimmering sounds. It also has a solid bell that's playable, so you can ride on this thing to.
