I was at scottish drum day at the weekend and not even really looking for cymbals, but as I passed the Stagg stall and heard a couple of the sounds coming out of there I couldn't help but have a peek.
This "peek" actually ended up in me spending the humble sum of £30 for a DH exo 14" medium thin crash cymbal. And it sounds... well..... all the more sweeter knowing how much I paid for it.
No, but really, in all honesty, it is immense!!! It rings for just the right amount of time, has that nice hand-hammered 'crash' to it and basically does everything I need it to do. I mean, i'm no expert, but I certainly know what I like and this just does it for me. I'm looking for the matching hi-hats as I speak.
Just thought you all may like to know about this strange and unexpected improvement to the massive ex-laughing stock which is stagg cymbals...
