Yea!

Thanks, Bernhard!!

Omar has been one of my Unsung Heroes since I first saw him in the late 80s'! I think it was when he became a member of Weather Report. And then he started working with Sting, and I was just floored by his dexterity, speed, and fluidity! His grip is interesting to me, also! How he holds the sticks at the very end. That's cool...

Play On! ;-)

Bernhard, you've done it again! That's one of my favorite tunes off of that CD. Omar lays it down so smooth. And man, Steve Marcus, was he the man or what? Thanks again Bernhard.

This is taken from one of Hakim's DCI videos, i well recommend both of them to anyone interested in touch and groove. He's a really interesting guy to listen to as well.

Hey Jonescrusher,
What kind of instructional video is it? Does he break beats down and/or does he have anything written out?

Thanks

Yes, he goes over tunes from whatever record he had out at the time of making it. He breaks down grooves, plays them with the bassist Victor Bailey, and is very good at explaining what he does. There's also books that go with the videos with transcriptions.
