View Full Version : question concerning chaffee Sticking patterns

I have a question about some notation Gary uses in the book.
An example would be part 3 compund sticking, if you look at the patterns under group A, you see a triplet with the sticking rll, and lrr.
Under those sticking are the letters F T T, with each one being underlined, what do those letters and the other underlined letters mean?

Full stroke and Tap, perhaps? It makes sense, if the first note of the triplet is accented and the two others aren't.

Wavelength is correct.The 4 strokes Chaffee uses throughout the book is as follows:

F = Full
D = Down
T = Tap
U = Up
