Hello, I´m looking for a new ride and these are my options:

Meinl Byzance medium ride 21" (brilliant or traditional)
Zildjian Avedis sweet ride 21" (brilliant or traditional)
Zildjian Avedis medium ride 22"

My problem is that I cant play them personally because in my country its hard to find these kind of cymbal, here only sell cheap cymbals, so I want to order it by internet, Ive only heard them in the meinl and zildjian sites, and those were the ones i liked.

I would like your opinion about these cymbals, i want to make the right decision, I play rock metal, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Cymbalsonly.com carries the Mienl Byzances you're talking about and has sound files of the actual cymbal for sale. Cymbalcellar.com has a used 21" A Medium ride in stock right now, with sound files as well.

I've never played any of those rides in person, so I can't give my opinion there.

Check out the Bosphorus Traditional series cymbals too.
you can hear the individual cymbals at cymbalsonly.com
Bos trads are the only plates I play

Out of the three you have listed, I would opt for the Sweet Ride having played on one personally. These were also designed off of one of Armand's favorites ride cymbals.

Hey, give a listen to a Zildjian K Custom Ride 22" and to a Sabian Hand Hammered Raw Bell Dry Ride 21". They're pretty nice for rock.

imo the sweet ride lacks stick definition and to me is better as a crash ... if you want a ride for rock-metal take a look at the 22" sabian AA metal-x ride and the 22" 2002 heavy ride thease sound fantastic and really cut it ...:D

Yeah, but these rides you mentioned I think they lack of wash...Those rides that saocir said are quite versatile and I'm guessing that he seeks a ride with some wash but yet a nice ping.

I can tell you from personal experience the sweet ride and the the Avedis medium ride do not sound the same, so you would have to decide on the sound you want, I don't think the sweet ride makes a good rock ride but that is my opinion I own one and play mostly rock
and just purchased a 20" Avedis Custom medium ride, it is nice. actually the Sweet Ride is too washy for me , but is a great crash and beautiful bell.
