hello

i'm interested in buying some remote hi-hat to use it with pearl rack. i know two remote hats - the pearl one and the dw one. which one do you recommend? is it possible to mount a dw one on a pearl rack?

i'll be glad for you input :)

cheers

I recommend the Pearl, as it's a bit more adjustable with footboard angle, removable cams etc.. I had the DW 5000 and it wasn't as smooth as the Pearl, although I don't know about the new 9000's. The DW's also have interchangeable cables in different lengths, the Pearl only has an 8' cable that can't be removed.

You can attach any remote hi-hat to a rack, it doesn't matter the brand.

i just got the dw 9000 with an 8 foot cable and its great. you can adjust the spring tension on it pretty drasticly from tight to loose and the action is just as good as a traditional hi hat.

I would definitely go for the Pearl Eliminator Remote Hat Stand - it has very little to no lag. I was comparing it to a regular hat stand in the drum store and couldn't tell a difference in response time between the two.

Yeah, kind of like how you'd mount another tom on a cymbal stand or a cymbal on a rack...
