Indeed, this is great. Keiths an amazing player. One of the guys who really stands out in every sense. Normally, I don't really work on much straight material apart from Latin stuff. Not lately anyway. But, Keith being one of the guys whose straight playing I really dig I'm going to get stuck into this. Thanks Terry.

Thanks for checking it out guys!
Korompay, thank YOU for the cool ones you posted here also!
Wavelength, let me know if tiy do that solo. I would like to check out what you come up with.
Class A, I don't think it is on you tube. Only here at Drummerworld or on the MD 2005 dvd.
More to come soon.

Man, if you dig this transcription you should really consider getting the DVD. There is a wealth of good info and some really amazing playing on it. I think Keiths solo is the standout on it but it's got some great playing from other guys with a fantastic group performance by Roy Haynes, the eternally young jazz master, and of course Jojo!

Yeah, sometimes the video doesn't load for me and it says : "Click to Run an Active X control on this webpage" but after I click OK or the X it doesn't load. Sometimes it has worked for other videos. Whether or not it works seems pretty random. It may be because I don't have the right player on my hard drive. Either way, it's a great transcription. What program is used to create it?

Hey Skin Man,
I used an early version of Finale for this.

Terry! That's great! Keith is such an original monsterous drummer.
I saw on HOD that you have a Hass transription too. I didn't join HOD cause it seems like a bashing forum from what I read. Lot's of great info in transcribing. You get inside of what these great players are doing.

hey JazzRock,
Yeah, that is my stuff over at HOD also.
I just wanted to spread the love over here as well. I have the Hass and a couple Vinnie solos and some other stuff as well.
If you folks want, I will put up some more transcriptions. Let me know!
Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

YES! Having only recently discovered hass and never being able to absorb enough vinnie, i would love to have some of those transcriptions.
What version of finale exactly were you using? I have a newer finale but cant get it to look like that (i'm finale-y-challenged though)
And, speaking of Hass and Carlock, I JUST realized that nearly all my favorite drummers play (or have played) yamaha's. sup wit dat? (with a few sonor exceptions of course)

YES! I was actually going to start a thread about only that. My favs, Carlock, Hass, Hoenig, Sanchez, Weckl, even Roy Haynes! I wonder if these young guys actually love Yamaha's or if Yamaha's PR and A+R people are just really on top of it.
Terry, please, I'd love to see the Hass transcription. Nice one Vinnie!
