Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy a new crash cymbal and replace it with my 16'' A Custom Fast Crash, because the fast crash isn't loud enough for my taste. I definitely know I want to stick with a Zildjian crash, but I can’t decide what crash and size I should go with. I don't want it sounding like Z Custom cymbals, because I think that they sound like trash cans.
I was looking at an (A Custom Projection Crash) or an (A Custom Medium Crash), but would like some opinions. I can’t go to my local Samash, because they never have any cymbals and will sell you anything. I have listed my cymbal setup if that helps.
My Cymbal List:
*All Zildjian Cymbals
8'' & 10'' A Custom splash
14'' A Custom Mastersound high-hats
16'' A Custom Fast Crash (left side)
18'' A Custom Crash (right side)
18'' Oriental China Trash
20'' A Custom Ping Ride
If anyone can help me I would highly appreciate it,
Thanks.

I was gonna go with Paiste but in the end chose Zildjian and did end up getting the 18" medium crash, I love it. It sounds a little brighter than the projection crash.

Since you are a A custom fan, I would suggest a 17" A custom or fast. I love that series of cymbals, and the 17" A custom fast is by far my favorite. I love the bright/ tight explosive nature of it, and then it just disappears. Those A customs record really well.

Bigger equals louder. In essence, if you want louder, you doin't want a 16" or a 17" cymbal. 18" or 19" is the louder sound you are seeking.

Ummm how about an A-Custom 20" Crash? You wont get a better cymbal to go with the 18" A-Custom IMO.

i agree with the above, i would recommend either a 20" a custom crash, 20" a custom projection crash or a 20" avedis medium crash... the a custom mediums are a bit gongy sounding for my taste but thats my opinion.. 20" and 18" sit brilliant together...:D

I like the Projection Crashes myself. I have a 16" and a 17" on my personal kit. They're a little quicker and seem a bit louder that the standard crashes. I'm also a huge fan of the Fast Crashes. I prefer those two over run of the mill medium crashes.
Good luck!!

I would suggest an 18" Sabian HHX Power Crash but If you want to stick with Zildjian go with an 18" Zilidjian A Custom Projection Crash.

I agree with Groove. Projection crashes will do the job. Probably 18" if you want real loud.
