anyway of connecting stereo to e kit and hear both through headphones?

so i can play songs through the stereo and play along on my rolands. can it be done?

There should be a Mix In Stereo jack in the back panel of the controller unit. Just pull a cable from your stereo's headphone jack into the Mix In jack.

If you use a laptop you can play to MP3s and hear yourself through the headset...

ok... first you need a way to connect the set to the laptop, and of cource you need headphones.
use the mic jack to sound your set.

1) click on START --> Programs --> Accessories --> Entertainment --> Volume Control
2) uncheck the box that sais mute under the Microphone volume

thats it!
you can adjust your input volume using that window as well.

just dont forget to mute it when youre done.

thanks, only problem is that the jack on the laptop is 1/8 inch, and the jack on the e kit 1/4 inch...how do i get around this?

Radio-Shack or any electronic store sells adapters for only a few bucks (no more then $5.00).

PS: you may want to start with the mic vol at a low level and work your way up, you dont want to blow your speakers/headphones.

why not just do the opposite.
Take a 1/8" cord from your laptops headphone jack and plug it into your 1/8" Mix In jack on the Rolands. It produces a better sound, and you don't need any adapters, just 1/8" plugs.
And then you could take your 1/4" outputs on the Roland and still be able to plug them into a stereo or pa or drum amp.
