Cost not relevant, would axis or Cobras be better for Metal?

Also, whats the difference of feel and performance in chain-drive and spring-drive pedals?

1) What is "spring drive"?

You're gonna find every answer thrown at you for that question. Everyone can do everything with every pedal known to man. The point is for you to choose something you like and make it work...not what works or does not work for someone else.

It's all up to your own preferences. Go and try them out, if you can. Don't rule out the Flying Dragon either; its a great pedal and is a lot cheaper than any other direct drive pedal.

First- There is not brand of drums or anything that is better than another brand for metal or any other type of music.

Also,- (look at "first") the same rule applies with pedals. Its all about feel. The thing that makes the sound different is not the pedals, but by the tuning of the drum, and the type of beater.

You need to get your feet on both a Tama IC pedal and an Axis pedal. The difference between those 2 pedals is like night and day. The 3 common "drive systems" are direct, chain and strap. "Spring drive"? Never heard of such a beast.
