hey guys, ok i'm officially depressed now. you see, i got this amazing DW edge snare, 13" * 5 1/2. everything was going so well, amazing sound and everything, up until something happened last week that i have no idea what it was exactly.
the snares are making a "fuzzy" sound whenever i hit the head. i'm using an "EC2 Snare" head by Evans and the snares are brand new...i have tried everything to get rid of that annoying sound: i tried all kinds of tension adjustements on both heads and snares, all possible combinations with no luck. when i release the snares, it sounds just perfect (so i assume there's no problem with the tuning then)....i just cannot pinpoint the problem!!!
have this happened to any of you guys? do you have any tips for me!??! i really need help, i'm going crazy!!!!!

you can e-mail me to alainnajm@gmail.com if you want.

thanks.

Loosen the snares all the way and flip the strainer up. Start playing on the center of the drum and tighten the snares slowly and gradually. If you get that nasty fuzz sound before a nice sound, you have a problem: the snare mat might not be correctly centered or one of the snare wires has come loose.

How is your drum tuned? Make sure that the resonant head isn't too loose or too tight.
