ok so i play match grip...but oddly enough my left hand takes preference to german grip while my right takes preference to french...is this bad? should i force one hand to take over the others technique..or is this ok?...and also ive been having problems with my left hand...i can play doubles and whatnot fine but when i play a paradiddle...my left wont perform a double well...it seems as if my hand just goes dead...and i cant ge that second hit...its tuff to explain but any and all help is greatly aprecciated

Yes basicly these are all technique troubles. I'm sure soon you will overcome those problems, just keep doing exercises. Do it slow and accuratly, don't rush your self. It takes time!
Do you have JOjo Mayer's new DVD...? ;)

na i pretty much learn everything off the internet...youtube and whatnot...i learned basic beats from my fav bands...then i started studying rudiments....then i started learning new fills and grooves from the teachers on youtube...but then i realized i was using too much of my fingers and relying on bounce...but when i switched to utilizing my wrists more i came across alot of problems...and is the whole german/french issue a huge problem?

Oh man you have quiet similar story with mine. I started to practice only fingers in french grip.
Well I like to find free stuff in internet like Pope's videos too. But Jojo's video is a must. It covers almost everything.
You should start to practice free strokes and and after little time whipping motion too. Use mirror and video camera.
And get Jojo's video!

my paradiddles really sucked until i realised that I held the stick in the left hand further back then my right which made bouncing harder and keeping them at the same sound level real hard.
pair up your hands and align the grip.
maybe your problem is somewhere else but it sounds pretty similiar to the ones i had
Btw I never had a teacher so I didnt get the basics down when i first started playing therefor some bad habits.
hope you understand my english!
