Question: The Vic Firth Echo sticks are interestingly crafted; has anyone used them, what for, and how would you rate them?
I enjoy experimenting with different sticks, mallets, rods, and such. Would love to hear thoughts and experiences from drummers about the wide variety of implements with which to hit things with!
Thanks,
Michael

After checking out this link, ask yourself if there is any place that would give you such an informed and unbiased opinion on such a specific subject: I submit that there is not! Enjoy DW Forum: it's the best.

Thanks for mentioning my thread.
Yeah, so I own a pair and like their design and feel. I also like the fact to have a thick grip but not much weight...
Though what I also experienced in the last time was that the small round tip doesn`t give a very full sound when riding on cymbals, it doesn`t give you those dark characteristics of the cymbal.

I bought a pair some years ago. Used it a bit in orchestral stuff but preferred the SD2 Boleros which have the same sized tip. Weird sticks certainly. They definitely work better than using any sort of bundle thing as they still have a solid sound but very quiet. They work for jazz combo playing but I just prefer a heavier stick myself. The sd5s are fun though. They also make great magic wand props if you ever make a movie :)
