Its been a while since I posted my kit here on dummerworld. Many things happend this summer with my kit. But I could not drum much because I was working all summer for the things I bought for my kit.
Ok, first, at the end og june I bought Zildjian 15" A Series New Beat Hats. They are lovely.
Next, at the end of july I bought a Zildjian 22" A Series Ping Ride(and a new computer :D). It has a very nice ping sound and a loud crash sound.
Sometime in mid august I bought a drumkit of a friend, its a crappy Verve kit, I'm now taking care of 'em. I got it for like 60 buks.
In the end of august I orderd a new snare, Ludwig Supra phonic 14x6,5" and a case for it. I'm still wating for them.
And now, this last sunday, I made a drumroom in my garages. Its not finished, but Im going to finish it when I have more money.
Its not over, olso this last sunday I bought Samson mics for my kit. I got 'em used for like 180 buks.
So this has been a great summer.

Good choice on the supra.

I just re-did my drum area and hung up some uhaul blankets(witch really help BTW) and Its caused me to want to practice more.

Also... What kind of mixer are you using for recording? and when are we gonna get some sound files? I'm interested in the mic's quality

Very cool.

I have the same kit, but I go for very small toms as a rule.

Are those Ambassador or Emperor heads? I have a Pro M with essentially the same sizes plus a 10 and I'm trying to decide between the Ambassadors or the Emperors for the toms...coated of course. Just curious what other Mapex users have.

I have a Coated Ambassador on the snare that mathes the kit(Pro M Snare) and coated emperors on the toms. For resos I have Clear Ambassadors and the drums sound sweet :D

It's sounds as though you are a Remo guy, but I have G2 coated for batters and G1 coated for resos and they are incredible. Very durable, on almost a year and they look and sound brand new. I find this combo with the Mapex very easy to tune and get a nice variety of tones. Good luck. Check 'em out in my sig if you'd like.

What kind of snare is that? It looks like the one I have.

That snare is my 12x7" black panther. It sounds so nice, deep and cracky ;)
