Hi, im looking for a new (cheaper) kit to upgrade to.
Ive been playing for 5 years and feel its time to get an electric.
Ive been looking at the HD-1 and it looks good, inviting, but i need backup from people who know what their talking about so...
If you could help me that would be great...

Man I'm gonna be honsest with you DON' T DO IT.....
I was messing around with it a few weeks back 2 Sam Ash and it was a joke....it felt like something from ToysR-Us....
My suggestion is to save your money and get atleast a TD6....thats a good entry level kit...

I'm a TD-3 owner and tried the HD-1 out last week at a store - it's OK for kids, but I would never recommend it to anyone else. I especially hate the feel of the pedals, and the fact that you can't move them. I bought my td-3 set last year used for less than the HD-1 kit is now. Look for a TD-3 or better yet a TD-6 kit used...

Agree with everyone else! Don't do it!
TD-6 plus some Harts would be a lot more for your money.

Here is quite a long thread about the HD-1. Some people really love it. I think people with previous V-drum experience do not, for the most part, because they've played kits that are far superior. Having said that, read the thread.
Check with Flurbs. He's a Roland & Hart Dealer and England (not sure of exact location) who frequents that forum and is very helpful to the members.
