I have used them off and on for years and never had a problem with them. But then I have never had a problem with normal felts and washers. I typically used them on my Ride or china where I didnt want as much movement.

I personally don't see them having any benefit vs. felts on a stands in regards to crashs, rides, and splashes, as long as you're letting the cymbals move. On the other hand, for Chinas, ifyou're going to mount with the bell down, IMO they're a must. They hold the china in the correct position instead of it being off balance on a regular stand and putting stress on the hole, and they still allow the china to move.

I have used one for years, but only on my china cymbal...Like fourstringdrums says, it's essential to have when you invert your china to hold it in the right position.

I had a cheapie set of Hart Dynamics electrics at one time and the cymbal springs worked well for holding the plastic cymbals in place too.
