I've had this set for about ten years now, I've added a few things since I got it of course. Tell me what you think.
Sorry about the poor quality pictures, I had to use my camera phone.

Nice to see someone on this forum using moongels. I think they're a great product.

The shallow toms are pretty cool. Do you know what wood etc. the drums are? As always white finish looks good, but I'm afaid I don't think I'll be the last one to say replace those B8 Pros.

That set looks stunning. So shiny. Is that a timbale cowbell?

This is a trip down memory lane for me! This was my first drum set. Same color, sizes, tom mount......exactly the same. I loved it very much. My father bought it for me when I was a freshman in high school (26 years ago). It was a big purchase for him too, he made a very"modest" salary. I have owned many different sets and this is the only one I wish I still had.

You've got a great kit-enjoy it : )

Thanks for the comments.

Sorry, I know nothing about what wood the drums are made out of, I bought the set used so I really don't know much about it.
The B8 Pros are not that good, I agree, the crash in particular I'm not liking too much. But when it came to buying new cymbals, I was more for adding on the other two, rather than first replacing the ones I already have. And I don't plan on replacing them now either.

Yes that is my marimba, I was wondering if anyone would point that out. I haven't played it in a lonnng time. I used to use it to practise for percussion exams and what not, I'll probably end up selling it.

The cowbell is just a deluxe black beauty, I'm not sure whether it's for timbale or not.

I have owned many different sets and this is the only one I wish I still had.

Interesting, I'll keep that in mind.

The set was,by today's standards,a middle of the road series. I don't know the type of wood used (I know it wasn't anything expensive) but it was a pretty good semi-pro kit.

The kit just had sentimental value for me.

I love the old PEARL drums. Those look like the are mid to late 70s, right? Classic, pretty kit.

Very cool kit.

I once played on an Identical kit at a recording studio.

I put some nice heads on it and it killed.

That's my first kit as well! I got it around 1982, when I was 16. Still have mine, but it's all boxed up. I've got a Sessions SMX now. The original tom clamp was a casting that broke after several years. I want to say that it was poplar wood with the fiberglass sprayed over the shells that give them that gray appearance. I'm not positive though. Yours looks like it's in great shape. Are you the original owner? I'm guessing not, as you say you've only had it about ten years.

Wow, Those look surprisingly familiar. Just when I was beginning to think that my white set was the last of its kind. Your kit looks in really good shape. Nice to see Pearl used a better tom mount system than the horrid ball joint setup originally used on my Maxwin badged Pearls from that same era. My white kit pics are here:http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30743

Your drums do look good.....
