hi, i recently got a chance to play on a yamaha drum pad. i don't know which one it was, but i have been thinking about getting one, so i can practice with headphones. i have been looking at getting the dd55 and replacing the pedals with a kp65 and hh65. it seems that this is possible with the dd65 but the dd65 is a little harder to find. anyone have any experience with these pads? i'm also interested in hearing about similar pads from other companies that are in the same price range. the roland ones i have seen are too expensive.

after doing a lot of research i have decided to build my own electronic set. there seems to be a few different ways to do this. you can build the triggers and buy a brain, buy triggers and build a brain, or build triggers and a brain. because i do not have a ton of money to spend i will probably build both myself. i have some experience with building stuff. i took an electrical engineering class in school and built a tube amp for my final project, so i think it shouldn't be that hard to build the brain. the pads look dead simple. if anyone else is interested the sites are found are:

I am a new member so will try to revive old thread. Has anyone tried the KP 65 with the Yamaha D55? The local dealer tells me anything but the original pedals cause an unacceptable delay. Any other suggestions for the terrible pedals that come with it? This is a great "toy" and fine for practice when you do not want to disturb the whole house with an acoustic kit.
