Well, my new PDP maple snare sounded so good I took back the Cherry maple Pork Pie and bought this Tama snare in brushed steel. It's a 6 1/2x14 and it came with a very nice bag and I saved $100 so I bought the new Modern Drummer dvd. The snare sounds great and looks fantastic.

Thanks man.

Has anyone checked out the new Modern Drummer Festival dvd? It's got some really great artist, I especially liked Jason Mcgerr with his silver sparkle Ludwigs and Danny Saraphine playing some classic Chicago songs.

How have you tuned it?

How is Steve Smith on the MD DVD?

I've tuned the snare fairly high, both top and bottom.

As far as Steve Smith goes, well he's Steve Smith, what more can I say, he was awesome playing some old jazz tunes.

ahh you took back the PP cherry maple!?!?!?! That snare sounds AMAZING! That tama is a good sounding snare too, but the cherry maple has such a sweet one, not a sound you come across much.

Yeah, what's up with that Stick? That was an awesome snare. Man, you change your mind about drums about every week , huh. Well, I know Tama makes good snare drums, so enjoy, til next week, lol.

Well the PDP sounded so good I didn't need another maple snare. I got the Tama, which is metal, that gives me a different sound. I liked the PP, but it really wasn't any better than the PDP to me, and I saved some dough and it came with a nice drum bag.

Looks great, how does it sound?

If you ever have to go into rehab for your addiction, I'm probably the best person on here to be your sponsor =D

Ha, ha, I think I'm way beyond rehab, I don't think I'll ever find the perfect kit, because there are at least five different finishes I want and lots of different kits, from vintage to modern. I think if I could find a vintage silver sparkle Ludwig in a 13,16,22, and a DW wmp in 10,12,14,16,22, I'd be satisfied. Until then, the hunt continues.
