As I said in another thread you made, in general EC2's are not as wet and are more resonant sounding than the coated Pinstripes. I also found that coated Pinstripes have more attack than the EC2's.

As far as I'm concerned, the EC2's are the Pinstripes for this time, and are doing what the Pinstripes wanted to do better.

Unless the head is completely warn out, any head is going to sound good behind a mic. It may even be hard to tell the difference.

Theres nothing between them.

Just like Ambassadors vs G1s, Emperors vs G2s, EC2s vs Pinstripes.

Certainly behind a mic people would be kidding themselves if they said they could easily tell the difference.

but I like the clear type more.
They have a stronger attack and are very punchy for a great rock sound.
coated sounds warm but watevs.

I play a lot.
anything from ska/new age alternative to classic rock style and even back to the days of that sweet soul music playing Tower of power and kool and the gang style funk. I pretty much play it all

Ya I accually learned with my 7-8th grade band teachers funk band at 7 pm every wednsday when I went to school there

It's all about ToP, Average White band, James brown, Chicago, Blood Swear and tears, Earth, wind and fire, Eddie Floyd, Kool and the gang, Blue, and some Rick James.

All this "sweet soul music" is what got me interested in ska.
