Pork Pie Cherry Maple Snare

OK, so I didn't get the DW's, but I was able to pick up this 6x14 Pork Pie cherry maple snare. It sounds great, bought it at GC, they had it priced at $369, but he sold it to me for $334, and it's made by an American. I think it goes really well with the new wood floor.

The lugs on those are beautiful, the modern look of them goes really well with the wood. great snare

Bill makes excellent snare drums. I have a 6x13 maple snare that I usually use as my main snare and it sounds awesome recorded. Not sure about GC and the price... there is a new one on Ebay for $249 BIN. Great snare none the less.

I saw that drum, hmmmm, I may have to return this to GC and buy that one, even with shipping it would still be considerably less. That's what happens when you buy something without checking other sources.

Yes, but they do have a 30 day return policy, I wonder if they would match the price of the one on ebay, especially since it's being sold new buy another music store.

Generally music stores won't match ebay. But, if it's from a music store, and it's a buy it now option, they might match the drum + shipping.
Stick, I just found that ebay item and you should jump on it. I've bought some pieces from this seller and he always has great prices. Plus, his items are always top notch. If GC refunds the money, jump on it and save some $.

As a former GC employee, I CONSTANTLY had people trying to haggle with me, and If you compare a lot of shops, they are still pretty competitve with pricing. I went into GC this past weekend to get my Piccolo Snare, and the guy gave it to me with 10% off plus a free head. So, there are ways to get good deals with sales people.

Looks great, and I really mean it. If I lived in the US I'd be on the phone talking to the guys at Pork Pie about the making a kit in exactly the same finish. It has this great understated look that screams class. Satin finishes are sooo underrated in my opinion.

I don't know, you'll have to ask some one that owns one, I took it back because when I bought this PDP kit the snare sounded as good as the Pork Pie snare. I really didn't need two maple snares so I bought a Tama brushed metal snare and saved some money.
