Hey guys,
Well it's time to get new batter heads for my toms and snare. On the snare I currently have a coated emperor x and on the toms I have remo pinstripes.
I play metal so I need to good durable ones with a good metal sound. Would you guys recommend I get the same ones or do you have other recommendations?
Thanks.

Cool thanks.
Do you think a Power centre coated snare head would be good because I found an EC2 pack on Ebay but the snare head is a power centre coated (it's still Evans though).
Edit: Just realised it's an EC2 clear pack not coated.

are you loyal to one particular brand at all?
i'd suggest for durability try some Remo Smooth Emperors.
ive had one on my snare for round about 6 months now and still sounds absolutely brilliant

Nah, I'm not loyal to just one brand. I just want good sounding, durable heads.

Try Evans, and you'll be surprised...I used to use Remo Pinstripes, but never again.
I haven't used the EC2s yet (just G2 clear and coated), but I think for my next set I will give them a try. That Power center snare batter you are talking about is a good choice-damn near bulletproof. The coating doesn't wear off at all, unlike the ones made by Remo.

Hey guys.
I'm having 2nd thoughts about the ST dry snare head. I've heard that it is similar to the Remo emperor x which I currently have and had trouble tuning because of it's thickness I think.
I also didn't really like the sound of it on mine but it could have been my snare.
I also forgot to tell you what my kit is. It's a Pearl export with 10", 12" and 14" toms and a 14" snare.
Are those ST dry snare heads the best to go for metal or is there anything else?

remo coated emperor on snare batter
remo coated ambassador on snare resonant
remo clear pinstripe on tom batters
remo ebony ambassador on tom resonants
and, if you feel like you need a new bass:
remo ebony ambassador on bass batter
remo coated ambassador on bass resonant
^i know the bass heads sound weird, but i get an incredible sound out of them, especially for metal if you choke it a bit, you get a huge attack out of it.

i currently have Pinstripes on my toms, and a coated Ambassador on my snare...but i'm planning on switching to Powerstroke III tom heads and Emperor X on the snare...
