My Maple Yamahas

Some shots of my acoustic kit, in different settings. The live shots are from the Embassy Hotel, with Lead The Dead, or in rehearsal. Some are promo shots for clinics and one or two in my living room. LOL. I'm going to have new shots up soon of the studio/jam space when it's complete. I may even be able to upload some tracks but I'm not sure yet. :P

It is Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute - Red Sparkle 2006

In three shots it's got a full Roland TD-6 attached..... what a BUGGER to schlep around, only for big shows... and big bucks :)

I'm setting up a hybrid next week with the DTXIIS ;O)

Those Fibreskyns are really woody sounding, neat timbre. I use Evans EC2's on the toms, a Genera Dry on snare and a Remo Powersonic on my kick, which kicks alot of ass :) Here's three audio tracks, hope they work :) first two are my drums, just basic bed tracks, but the kit is raw which i love, HATE post production.

Senor Ted is me WANKING on a guitar track I wrote, and I put it up there because I think it's hilarious, lazy producer won't send me the better version though lol

The Fibreskyns were really cool, though as I said earlier, I switched to Evans EC2's on the toms and an Evans Genera Dry on the snares. I got the 20" kick originally cause I'm just a little guy, and always wanted to have my toms flat and low, but the sound kicks so much ass. It's good for everything from jazz to rock/metal. Beautiful kit :) I'm very pleased with it.

BY THE WAY... I had a brainfart and reapplied a few days ago to the site, so TedTheDrumGuy and A.C. Perkins are one and the same, and both me. :)
This is PRECISELY why they don't let me touch the oven at my house lol!

Well it was gonna be a 20" HH Dark China from Sabian, but for a third of the price I'll take the Wuhan every time :)

Nice live shots, Teddy! You know I dig yer kit. I can personally vouch that the kit sounds truly amazing live as I have seen Teddy perform...........and if you want to take pics of the hybrid monster, you can use my digital camera to show all our drum buddies here at DW.

I would like to say that if any of you dudes live in the London area, you should check out the young fella here play. :) He is an awesome drummer!!

BTW, the G1's you recommended and sold me sound great on my kit...yowza.

Curious as to why you have your smallest tom higher than the one coming off the bass drum...? Doesn't that cross you up a bit if you're going from the latter to the former? I would suggest leveling them both to the same height so you can focus more on the music and not thinking about not whackin' those rims! : )

Actually, the only time I do that is when I have my electronics setup with the red kit. (As it is currently in my basement) Reason being I have my pads above my hihats, and it's an easier transition. Also, I don't tend to play linear up the toms backwards, one of the many things I need to work on :)

Been trying to figure out my module for days now, 5-6 hrs a day... driving menuts, like playing two kits... not used to it anymore.

Great kit, that's something I can only dream of one day owning. That setup with the rack toms inspired me to try it and its great. I used to have the toms both coming off the stand but using the bass to support the one tom helps bring everthing back towards the center. Again, kudos on the set and can't wait to see the hybrid you're working on.

Well Fibreskyns are very throaty, midrange, with a neat attack that can be "revved"
EC2's are thicker, making the drums deeper, with more body and low end :)
