What snare head should i get? Unsure?

Hello, im unsure what snare head to get. I know i want a nice "pop" sound or a nice "tack" sound but im unsure what heads are best? Any suggestions?

The kind of snare you have will make just as much difference as the head. What kind of snare do you have?

This will be tricky cause i only have a pearl forum stock snare. Ive only been playing for a while so not upgraded yet.

Usually a smaller snare will give you generally more pop.
Larger snares are good for a full, deep tone.

i have a Pearl Chad Smith Sig. and the best sound ive gotten out of it from a head is an Evans Genera Dry...mine is a 14"...and like they have...said, what size and material is a biggy...

my forum snare is 14 x 5.5. is there any head that would give me a good sound?
