Emeril Lagasse

I don't know much about him but apparently he's a drummer. According to wikipedia he even got into a school of music or something because of his talent but instead chose to cook.

There isn't much about it on the web but I read on the food network site that he sometimes plays along with the house band on his show.

He used to be a drummer but he's a good chef now, it worked out for him. He's had a few percussion guests on his show, but I can't remember any names.

Lagasse also developed an interest in music. He could play several different instruments, and he joined a local band as a drummer, performing several nights a week during the school year and nearly full time in the summer.

By the time he reached high school, Lagasse's life was consumed by cooking and music. As graduation neared, the New England Conservatory of Music offered him a full scholarship. Lagasse turned it down, opting instead to pay his way through cooking school.

Emeril is a drummer. My mom called me in when she was watching his show because she heard him mention "Vic Firth." Turns out Vic was on the episode. I took vids of them playing.

His talents as a drummer earned him a scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music but he chose instead to attend Johnson & Wales University in hopes of becoming a chef. He met his first wife, Elizabeth Kief, while working at a restaurant to pay his way through school.[3] He graduated from Johnson and Wales in 1978 and the school later awarded him an honorary doctorate.
